The King Alfonso X the Wise was born in Toledo on 23rd November 1221 in the palace of Galiana. Toledo was one of the cities that the Wise King loved best, not least because it was the most sophisticated of the Moorish kingdoms when the Arab-Andalusian culture was at its peak, and where the concept of the "Three Cultures" --Jews, Cristians and Muslims-- took the whole sense: a paradise on Earth in which all knowledge is cultivated in a spirit of unity made possible by tolerance and plurality.
