In 2000, the 250th anniversary year of Bach’s death, the BCJ had its debut Australian performance in Melbourne. The ensemble’s recordings of the St. John Passion and the Christmas Oratorio were both selected as Gramophone’s ‘Recommended Recordings’ at the time of their release.
